8.5 billion Riyals Exports Volume in the Middle East

The general director of marketing and corporate communication in the Saudi Exports Development Authority, Firas Aba Al-Khail, said that the domestic exports of construction materials grew at a constant rate of 6% per annum. He remarked that the largest share goes to the Arab Gulf by 60%, then to North Africa by 13%, while the share of other countries in the region is 27%.

During the international exhibition of building and construction works, 2015 BIG 5 DUBAI, where more than 100 factories and national companies joined under the umbrella of the Saudi Pavilion hosted by the "SAUDI EXPORTS" and sponsored by SABIC and the Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates, during the period between 23 to 26 November,  Aba Al-Khail added that the Middle East and North Africa imported Saudi products worth up to 8.5 billion riyals during the past year, which refers to the great opportunities for Saudi manufacturers to increase market share in the Middle East and North Africa market over the next five years, and raise the percentage to reach up to 2,5% of the total imports of the region from the world even more. This reflects the growing demand for building materials in the region, through a number of measures aimed to achieving the objectives of the Authority of raising the market share of the domestic product in the region.

Aba Al-Khail said that the Authority has developed an action plan that is based on several key axes in order to create opportunities for companies ready to export through benefiting from export channels and linking exporters with international buyers and promoting the Saudi products. This will also include providing information on export opportunities, and finally improving the efficiency of export environment and facilitating access to international markets by supporting exporters and coordinating to implement the encouraging export policies and develop export environment. This effort comes in line with achieving the vision of the Authority through diversifying various internationally competitive Saudi exports, which contributes to increase non-oil exports and promote sustainable development of the Saudi economy through diversifying the exports base in accordance with the needs of national Saudi enterprises.
