After Receiving Award of the Best Participating Stand
More than 20 Saudi companies have participated in the International Food Exhibition held in Moscow in 2015. The Saudi Stand, which is organized by the "SAUDI EXPORTS" had in display several Saudi food products and was designed to activate and develop trade exchange transactions by providing opportunities for cooperation between producers and importers. This will open the door for Saudi producers to measure the volume of demand for products by consumers. Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Russia, Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, inaugurated the Saudi Stand. This is the second time that the Pavilion took part in the World Food Expo after winning the best award for the first time last year.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi exports of national food products for 2014, according to the data obtained from the General Authority for Statistics and Information, amounted to 12.5 billion riyals. The Middle East and North Africa had the largest share approximately 11.6 billion riyals. Asia recorded 344 million riyals of the total Saudi exports in the sector of national food products. Vietnam was the most importing country of Saudi food products 43%, followed by Malaysia 23%, then by India and South Korea 10% each. The remaining percentage 14% went to Indonesia and other countries in the Asian region.
The International Food Exhibition, held in Russia, is one of the most specialized exhibitions in food industry. It is concerned with showing food products for more than 12 activities in the food industry. More than 436 companies representing 69 countries took part in the exhibition which is witnessing an impressive presence by parties interested in global food industry, and the number of visitors has exceeded 50000 visitors compared with last year.
